Superconducting Technology - Future Integrated Circuit Technology

Compared with normal semiconductor technologies, superconducting microelectronics technology has considerable advantages. Loss of superconducting material is little, switching speed of Josephson junction is picosecond, and superconducting integrated circuit consumes very low power. Superconducting high-speed single-flux quantum (RSFQ) circuits can operate at frequencies up to hundreds of GHz and consume only one percent of current integrated circuits.
